Feb 24 - States Introduce Electronic Recycling Bills

The Legislatures are back in full swing across the country and there are 30 bills that have been introduced or carried over from previous year. These bills range from creating new e-waste recycling program, to modifications and tweaks to existing services. Here are few : 

  • Arizona -  HB 2209 - would created an extended producer responsibility bill for electronic devices
  • California -  AB 960 - requires e-waste recyclers to conform their export practices as a condition of receiving existing recycling payments under California’s e-waste law.
  • Georgia - HB 657 - would created an extended producer responsibility bill for electronic devices
  • Hawaii - SB 2822 -   Revise existing e-waste law to add an electronic device recycling task force.
  • Massachusetts -   S 2078 -   would created an extended producer responsibility bill for electronic devices
  • Ohio - SB 253 -  would created an extended producer responsibility bill for electronic devices
  • Washington - SB 6336 - Revise existing E-waste Recycling law to modify manufacturer's independent plan requirements.

Currently, 25 states have electronics recycling programs. Find out if your state is one of them.
