Dec 17 - ME - Maine Releases Report on Implementing Product Stewardship

LD 1631, signed into law by Governor Baldacci on March 11, 2010, created the first product stewardship Framework in the nation. The Framework legislaton requires manufacturers of certain products to share in the responsibility of the disposal or recycling of their end-of-life products. Maine Department of Environmental Protection was tasked with preparing a report to determine which product categories will fall under the new law.
