About Us

Campaign for Recycling (C4R) is a national non-profit environmental advocacy organization whose mission is to conserve resources, prevent pollution, and protect the environment through the development and promotion of proven, pragmatic, and market-based waste prevention and recycling policies. We believe that when the producers and consumers of problem materials and waste are required to internalize the cost of pollution and meet waste reduction and recycling goals, the result is less pollution, less waste and sustainable recycling of residuals.

The goal of C4R is to substantially expand recycling in the United States through the development of state-based recycling incentives.  While there are many products for which recycling incentives should be expanded, C4R is currently focused primarily on beverage container (bottle bill), plastic litter and electronic waste (e-waste) recycling policies.  To learn more about campaigns in your state, click here.
